DMX began to rap as early as the mid 1990s. In May 1998 the rapper released his debut album called It's Dark and HELL IS HOT. There were many albums released over the years, including... And then There Was X... again Redemption of the Beast grand champ... The Great Depression Year of the Dog... The album ... and then there Was X was also nominated for an Grammy for the Best Rap Album category in 2001. The success of his music was further enhanced by his appearances in such films as Lords of the Street Belly Top Five - Exit Wounded Never Die Alone - The Bleeding Romeo Must Die Backstage Beyond the Law Lockjaw - Rise of the Kulev Serpent and Fast and Fierce Death Race.
